Texas Employment Update

For the first time in recent memory Texas employers received a SUTA (State Unemployment Tax) refund as there was a surplus due to record employment in the state. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics' May regional and state employment report, Texas gained 22,700 jobs compared with April, which is the same as that of Illinois and California combined (second and thrid respectively).. Texas has gained 239,000 jobs since May of last year which is the largest increase in the country.
