Business Analyst
This is a 6+ contract position in West Houston (Hybrid). This role is accountable for understanding and translating business strategies, processes, workflows, and systems into applicable functional/technical requirements. This role collaborates closely with key business leaders, stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors to ensure all stakeholders’ needs are being met.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborating with business leaders and stakeholders in scoping, designing, and delivering business driven requests including facilitating discussions, capturing business requirements, translating requirements, framing the business case, understanding value drivers, solution review/comparison, solution recommendation/selection, and leading/managing solution implementation
• Translating business needs/strategies into solution designs and deliverables including creation of features and user stories
• Ensuring completion of IT Security Reviews as necessary coordinating with the business and applicable vendor for supporting documentation (e.g., Risk Assessment, GIPA exceptions, cloud evaluation, etc.)
• Coordinate testing of system defects and enhancements including the development of test scripts and release notes, participating in testing, relaying defects to the vendor, and seeking business alignment for change requests and production go live
• Leading efforts and serving as a Release Train Engineer & Scrum Master for the capability team
• Developing a deep understanding of business acumen, end-to-end processes, workflows, systems, and data
• Analyzing, prioritizing, troubleshooting, and resolving application and data issues
• Leading migration of internally hosted applications and processes to cloud-based SaaS/PaaS solutions
• Development of supporting software documentation for IT and business reference (e.g., Knowledge Articles, ServiceNow records, application provisioning and audit instructions, etc.)
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Admin/Mgmt., Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, other related technical discipline, or foreign equivalent
• 3+ years of experience using Business Analysis methodologies (identifying and capturing business requirements, framing the business case, solution selection, managing solution implementation)
• 1+ years of experience leading large scale projects
• Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel 10% of the time on a yearly basis
• 3+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas Industry
• 3+ years of experience implementing vended software applications
• 1+ years of experience with HSE & SD applications including: Intelex, Cority, Sphera, TapRoot, MIR3, and IAP.
• 1+ years of experience implementing solutions on cloud SaaS and PaaS; basic knowledge of MS Azure or AWS
• Intermediate proficiency with Agile/SCRUM principles, tools (JIRA, ADO), estimation and planning
