Child Health Insurance Outreach Specialist

This is a long-term contract position, primarily remote. You will coordinate and staff child health insurance outreach efforts at designated schools, community events, public and non-profit agencies to increase awareness of affordable children’s health insurance options and assist with applications.
Develop and maintain working relationships with community agency outreach staff, school principals, nurses and other school campus staff.
Motivate community volunteers and school staff to assist families of uninsured children to apply for CHIP / Medicaid.
Serve as a bilingual trainer on the CHIP / Medicaid eligibility process, benefits and documentation requirements.
Act as liaison to ensure school campuses and community organizations are equipped with appropriate bilingual outreach materials and family incentives.
Arrange and staff bilingual outreach targeting families of uninsured children.
Identify and expand outreach opportunities in designated geographic area.
Effectively communicate with targeted families in Spanish and English in a culturally appropriate manner.
Assist families with uninsured children to complete applications for CHIP / Medicaid and potentially refer families to other agencies for assistance with other needs.
Document all families within designated internal management system

Required:
– At least 3 years of related experience with Medicaid
– At least 3 years of experience in community outreach, public relations, or special events, and event coordination experience (related to healthcare or insurance)
– Highschool diploma
– Spanish bilingual proficiency.
