Employee Relations Consultant
This is a contract position onsite in the Houston Medical Center. The Employee Relations Consultant serves as an employee relations subject matter expert (SME) and proactive change agent who serves as a liaison/relationship manager to mid-level and front-line leadership for assigned business units. The position is responsible for delivering a comprehensive and client-driven people service, aligning both people management and operational strategies. The position will proactively work with leaders to build teams and retain staff. The incumbent will advise, counsel, and support leadership in the application of HR processes, policies and procedures and implementing strategies that support the goals of the organization. This includes but is not limited to receiving, managing, resolving and documenting routine to complex employee relations inquiries and issues pertaining company policies, employment laws and regulations, performance concerns, behavior concerns, interpersonal conflicts, disputes and crisis/emergency/safety situations. The position is also responsible for conducting investigations into employee complaints, as warranted.
You will serve as a main point of contact on fundamental ER issues and questions.
Receives, evaluates and responds appropriately to employee concerns.
Consults with ER Compliance, Legal, and ER leadership on FMLA/ADA, Return to Work, and complex employment and termination issues.
Reviews, advises, and provides support as appropriate on employee terminations to ensure compliance with state and federal laws, policies, procedures and standard management practices.
Required- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university- Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related discipline.
Required- PHR or SHRM-C
Required- 7 years experience in HR as follows: ER/HR Consultant, ER/HR Specialist, Sr./HR Generalist, or HR Business Partner, with five (5) years of experience in Employee Relations.
