Family Advocate
This is a contract position in the Medical Center. You will advocate for the needs of patients and families while within the hospital system by facilitating open communication between
families and staff, addressing issues, and concerns.
-To support Resolution Specialist and Assistant Director/Director of Family Advocacy by: mentorship of Family Advocates, participation in special projects and educational opportunities associated with complaints/grievances, data collection for quality improvement, and assessment and updating of leadership contact data throughout the system.
-Develop programs related to addressing issues with patients and families.
-Conduct departmental in-services related to CMS guidelines, trends identified and benchmarking at other organizations
Education:
Required- Bachelor’s Degree in a clinical field. Background in social work and/or pediatric patient/family support setting preferred.
Required- 3 years experience in a healthcare clinical setting
Candidate will be familiar with working providing direct patient and family support in a dynamic clinical setting. Demonstrated ability to triage and prioritize multiple support requests. Strong written and interpersonal communication skills within a fast pace setting is essential.
Monday – Friday, 8:30 am- 5 pm. Primary Clinical areas: NICU, Neurology.
